KEYON SPRINKLE STREET DEDICATION CEREMONY WITH CITY OF BOSTON LEADERSHIP

In 2002, Keyon Sprinkle was wrongfully convicted of a crime he did not commit. At the age of 17, he was slated to spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole. Prior to his conviction, he was a stellar BPS student and an active participant of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Upward Bound Program.

With the help of his legal team and criminal justice advocates, Mr. Sprinkle was released on February 6th, 2020 after spending 20 years in prison. His ongoing support of organizations has been instrumental in helping to bridge the gap between policy makers and freedom fighters. In addition, Mr. Sprinkle has been a positive mentor for many residents of Boston and throughout the nation. In 2022, Mr. Sprinkle joined the Blackbury Organization as our Director of Strategic Initiatives.

On February 3rd, 2023, Mayor Michelle Wu erected a street sign in honor of Keyon Sprinkle.

As a former resident of the Charlame Park Homes in Roxbury, the dedication square has been placed at the corner of Charlame Street and South Charlame Terrace.
